- The hipocratic screening of methanolic extract of the root of Voacanga cf. foetida using modification of Malone – Robichaud method was done on 7-9 weeks old male white mice, DDY Japan strain. The result showed parasympatomimetic activity had higher percentage than other. The transit intestinal method showed that this extract increase the peristaltic activity. It was found that at a dosage of 300 mg/kg body weight, the distance was 58,66 % higher than a control. This extract had LD50 537.914 mg/kg of body weight.
