The establishment of non-public schools in Indonesia is facilitated by the possibility to levy charges for services and subsidies from the Government. Yet, since there is no clear policy about the way in which the Government subsidises non-public schools they are likely to be located in urban and rich localities where reasonable charges or higher subsidies from local governments are possible.
