  • Planning needs of need nursing personnel to be adjusted to the workload so that the service process can be implemented optimally. Bunda Thamrin Public Hospital was one of the hospitals that needs to perform the calculation of the nurse's needs so that the nursing services provided can be effective and efficient. The purpose of this research was to determine the number of nurses needs who served in the inpatient service Public Hospital of Bunda Thamrin Medan based on Workload Indicator Staff Need (WISN) method. The method used in this research was descriptive used WISN calculation, done on 72 nurses at inpatient unit. Data obtained through filling out questionnaires, interviews and daily logs that have been provided to the activities undertaken by nursing staff during working hours. The results showed that based on the calculation of the need of nurse personnel used the WISN method it is known that the need of nurses at the Public Hospital of Bunda Thamrin amounted to 78 people, while the number of nurses available at this time were 72 people, so there were defect number of nurses as much as 6 nurses. In this case suggested to the Head of Nursing Division of Public Hospital Bunda Thamrin to escalate the quality of nursing staff to Public Hospital of Bunda Thamrin Management in accordance with the result of WISN method so as to be able to carry out the service in accordance with the work load.
  • Perencanaan kebutuhan tenaga keperawatan perlu disesuaikan dengan beban kerja sehingga proses pelayanan dapat terlaksana secara optimal. RSU Bunda Thamrin merupakan salah sartu rumah sakit swasta yang perlu melakukan perhitungan kebutuhan perawat agar layanan keperawatan yang diberikan dapat efektif dan efisien. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jumlah kebutuhan perawat yang bertugas di pelayanan rawat inap RSU Bunda Thamrin Medan berdasarkan metode Workload Indicator Staff Need (WISN). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif menggunakan perhitungan WISN, dilakukan pada 72 perawat pada unit rawat inap. Data yang diperoleh melalui pengisian kuesioner, wawancara dan daily log yang telah disediakan terhadap kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh tenaga keperawatan selama jam kerja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan hasil perhitungan kebutuhan tenaga perawat dengan menggunakan metode WISN diketahui bahwa kebutuhan perawat di unit rawat inap RSU Bunda Thamrin berjumlah 78 orang, sedangakn jumlah tenaga perawat yang tersedia pada saat ini ialah berjumlah 72 orang, sehingga ada kekurangan jumlah perawat sebanyak 6 orang perawat. Disarankan kepada Kepala Bidang Keperawatan RSU Bunda Thamrin untuk melakukan peningkatan kualitas tenaga keperawatan kepada Manajemen RSU Bunda Thamrin sesuai dengan hasil metode WISN sehingga mampu melaksanakan pelayanan sesuai dengan beban kerja.
