  • This research conducted at Biological Veterinery Laboratory at the Animal Husbandary Department of Agriculture Faculty at Sumatera Utara University at Dr. Sofyan street no 3 * Medan, for two months started from December 2004 to January 2005. This research aimed observe the responce of giving the husk fruit of marquisa fermented by Aspergillus niger in feed on the performance of broiler. The husk fruit of marquisa a by product of agriculture industry is not commonly used in feed due to some limmiting factors such as low protein rate and high crude fiber content. Through fermentation process this constrictor factors expected can lessen. This research was using completly randomized experimental design with five treatment, four replications and each replication consisted of five chick. The treatment was Ro (Control), Ri (4% of husk fruit of marquisa fermented in feed), R2 (8% of husk fruit of marquisa fermented in feed), R3 (12% of husk fruit of marquisa fermented in feed), Rt (16% of husk fruit of marquisa fermented in feed) respectively. The research observed Feed Intake, average daily gain (ADG), and feed conversion ratio (FCR) of broiler. The result of research that Feed Intake (g/chick/week) was: (714.95 ; 697.12; 691.38; 681.78 and 677.22 respectively) with average 692.49 g/chick/week, and the effect of feed intake on this research was decrease signicantly different (P<0.05). average daily gain (ADG) (g/chick/week) was: (365.50; 321.53; 298.76; 293.27; and 269.11 respectively) with average 309.63 g/chick/week, and the effect of ADG at this research was decrease very signicantly different (P<0.01). The Feed Conversion Ratio (g/chick/week) was: (2.60; 2.45; 2.33; 2.25; and 1.94 respectively) with average 2.31 and the effect of FCR at this research was not signicantly different (P>0.05). The result of the research showed that the husk fruit of marquisa (Passiflora edulis) fermentated at the level 4%-16% in feed decreased Feed Intake, average daily gain (ADG), and increase feed conversion ratio of broiler, and the conclution of this research showed that the husk of marquisa fermented could be used until level 4%
