- PT. Wijaya Karya Beton is a company engaged in the field of precast concrete industry whose production is based on job order. Its main raw materials consist of concrete materials comprising, cement, sand, rock split, concrete iron, admixture and rock reinforcement which consists of PC Bar, PC Wire, PC Strand, spiral wire, concrete iron, and connecting plate. Accuracy of delivery and precision of material quality are the factors determining the smoothness of production and sales because if it cannot achieved, it will result in customers’ complaint and increasing cost of production, therefore, the supplier must be precisely determined. In this case, the company must be able to determine to which suppliers the materials must be ordered that, on one hand, the continuity of production can be maintained, and on the other hand, the company can make profit because the company can meet every order that comes. The purpose of this study was to find out the design of supplier’s performance evaluation system using the approach method of SMART (Strategic Management Analysis and reporting Technique) System to minimize the delay and defects of connecting plates. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used as a tool of decision making for the management in material procurement and can be implemented and become a standard system of a company. This study also aimed at developing alternative solution in the procurement of connecting plate materials based on the criteria of the company. The basic of the decision of evaluation standard system for the performance of suppliers are in the forms of dominant factor/variable in the form of the system valued to meet the criteria of the connecting plates ordered by Wika Beton to the supplier. This dominant factor is based on the calculation using SMART System method to find the Key Performance Indicator that the sequence of dominant factor/variable are Quality (42.26%), Delivery (19.71%), Cost (16.70%), Responsiveness (12.53%) and Flexibility (8.81%). The historical data of the supplier for the past 3 (three) months shows to what extent the supplier can do the order from Wika Beton in accordant with the delays and defective products. The supplier with the least delays of connecting plate delivery is Sinar Maju Perkasa (13.81%) while the one with the biggest delay is Bohlindo (26.36%). In addition, the supplier with the least number of defective connecting plates produced is Sinar Maju Perkasa (11.63%) while the one with the biggest number of defective connecting plates produced is Bohlindo (29.07%).
