- Lead is a chemical substance included in heavy metal group and it is not reguired by the body. Once entered into life organism body even though in a small amount number, it my cause health problem such as hypertension. The objective of this research was to analize the influence of lead contents in drilling well water and the risk factor to the hypertension disease occurrence in Kapias Batu VIII Village, Tanjung Balai district, Asahan Regency. The sampel was taken for 102, namely those who consume the water from drilling well. This research was observational with cross sectional design, while the test used in the study were X2 and multiple logistic regression at 5% alpha. The result of this research showed that there were four variables that had significance relation to hypertension, there were the consentration of lead in drilling well wate, the consumption of drilling well, age, and nutritional status with the occurrence of hypertension disease. The results of multivariate test using multiple logistic regression test showed that the most dominant factor influencing the occurrence of hypertension desease was nutritional status It was suggested for officers in Health Department to inform about health risk for the community as the effect of consuming water with lead contents exceeding the threshold value. Also it is necessary to add the knowledge of the community about the danger of hypertension disease leading into other complication through counseling.
