  • Maternal and child health issues (MCH) is still a health problem in Indonesia include the high maternal and infant mortality rate (IMR). Indonesia ranks fourth highest maternal mortality rate in 2005 when viewed from the developing countries of the world. One of the problems related to childbirth are births attended by TBAs. Until now the existence of TBAs remains a major option for people who are unable to reach the service delivery provided by the government as village midwives and midwives in the community in health centre it self or who cannot afford to pay the cost of service delivery due to economic constraints and the level of trust in the traditional birth helper who already being tradition by the his ancestors. Research goals of this for the analyze the influence of knowledge and attitudes dukun babies against action help labor by traditional birth helper in Baktiya Sub district Aceh Utara Regency. Types of Research nature analytic with the type explanatory research. The population in this study were all midwives in the Baktiya Sub district Aceh Utara Regency as many as 43 people and made the whole sample. Data obtained through interviews using questionnaires, and analyzed by multiple logistic regression. The results showed that there was knowledge and attitudes influence the actions of traditional birth delivery assistance by a midwife in Baktiya Sub district Aceh Utara Regency. Baktiya health centers that provide training and education to help traditional midwives in terms of both labor and delivery in accordance with the procedure medically. In addition midwives were taught about the signs of complications of labor and immediately referred to medical services. Baktiya health centers in order to establish cooperation between TBAs and village midwives in order if the midwife in helping to meet labor constraints will be assisted by a midwife and provide education about the importance of safe delivery attended by skilled and trained so that mother and baby can be safe and sound.
