  • In Faculty of Psychology North Sumatera University, e-learning are used in study, if it refers to using the audio tools, video tools, computers, or the combinations of the all aspects. Theories that are used in this research are Perception Theory by Myers (1992) tells that perception can drive us to act; Learning Motivations Theory by Santrock (2004) that devides learning motivation become two parts -intrinsic and extrinsic; and the last is E-learning Theory by Wahono (2008) that explains components of e-learning : infrastructure, system, and content. The aims of this research is to explain how students of Faculty of Psychology North Sumatera University perceive the e-learning, how the students' learning motivations are, and the correlation between perception about e-learning and students' learning motivations. measurement tools that were used in this research are e-larning perceptions scale with 19 items and reliability of alpha is 0,825; and learning motivations scale with 24 items and reliability of alpha is 0,800 that were aranged by the researcher. The subject in this research was 111 people. The results of this research indicate that 96.30% 0f the subject (107 people) perceived positively about e-learning, and the rest is about 3.67% (4 people) perceived negatively. For motivation categories, 32.46% (36 people) are in high motivation category, 67.57% (75 people) are in medium motivation category, and none is in the low motivation category. It means that the students perceived the e-learning positively and majority of the students are in the medium motivation category.
