- Zul Maratua Siregar, 2011. Low nutrient content of nitrogen is one of the obstacles in the development of farming in paddy fields. The purpose of this study was to increase the nitrogen content of soil, crop N uptake of rice so the impact on growth and optimal rice production through the application of composted straw and nitrogen fertilizers. The research was conducted in the village Tumpatan Nibung, district. Batangkuis, Deliserdang District, North Sumatra. This study uses a factorial randomized block design with two treatment factors. The first factor, the straw compost with different combinations of four treatments, namely: Without rice straw (blank), rice straw compost mixed with nitrogen fertilizer. Rice straw compost with Trichoderma harzianum bioaktivator, rice straw compost mixed with cow manure, the second factor, Fertilizer Nitrogen (N) consists of four standard treatment, namely: 0 kg / ha, 70 kg / ha, 140 kg / ha, 210 kg / ha . Results obtained from the total N content of the highest 0.223%, the highest N uptake 2.807% found in the rice straw treatment with boaktivator T. harzianum and fertilizer dose of 210 kg N / ha. The higher dose of nitrogen fertilizer is given the higher total N content of soil, leaf N content and N uptake of rice plants. Rice yield per plot that there is a high of 18.82 kg in the treatment of rice straw compost with bioaktivator T. harzianum and fertilizer dose of 140 kg N / ha.
