  • Industrial Trade Cooperation and Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Agency of Batu Bara District is a strategic regional work units (SKPD) in spearheading economic development process in Batu Bara District. The puposes of this research are to study and analyze the role of motivation and organizational commitment on employee’s performance in that agency. The type of this research is study case with survey and characterized with descriptive explanatory. The number of samples used in this study were all existing civil servants (38 respondens). The results of data processing performed by multiple linear regression model using SPSS version 15. The regression coefficient shows that the relationship between variables are 0,854 and r square or the coefficient of determination is 0,729. This means that 72,9% employee performance can be explained by the work motivation and organizational commitment. While only 27,1% variation of the performance of employees described other factors that are not included in this research model. The result of F test concluded that both of variable work performance and organization commitment give positive effects about 47,112 the result of t test work performance variable is 7,193 at significant level α 5%, t test for organization commitment variable about 4,785 significant for employee performance at α 5%.
