- Banda Aceh is an area which is vulnerable to earthquake and tsunami because it is located on the plate and fault of Sumatera Island and most of its area lies along the coast. Rumoh Aceh is a specific Aceh traditional house functions as a local wisdom in facing disaster especially the earthquake and tsunami. The purpose of this explanatory survey study was to analyze the influence of knowledge, experience, need and expectation on the perception of Aceh community prominent figure about Rumoh Aceh as a local wisdom in facing earthquake and tsunami disaster. The population of this study were 90 Aceh community adat prominent figures (tuha peut) in each urban village spread in 9 sub-districts in the city of Banda Aceh. The data for this study were obtained through questionnaire-based interviewed and analyzed through multiple linear regression tests at α = 0.05. The result of this study showed that statistically the variables of knowledge, experience, and expectation did not have significant influence on the perception of Aceh community prominent figure about Rumoh Aceh as a local wisdom in facing earthquake and tsunami disaster. The variable of need was the most influencing variable on the perception (β = 5.41). The Municipal Government of Banda Aceh especially the Adat Council is suggested to cooperate with Banda Aceh Public Work Service and the Banda Aceh Legislative Assembly to design the concept of Rumoh that can anticipate the disaster. The Aceh community prominent figure is expected to be able to socialize it to the society.
