- Buni is a potentially plant species in terms of economy and ecology of the family Euphorbiaceae. But the potention that existed at Buni is not comparable to the population that has been rare. So the alternative solution that is quite efficient and effective in terms of both time and cost is the multiplication by cuttings. The research aim to determine the best intensity of NAA and shading on the growth of stem cuttings Buni. The research was conducted in the trial field of Agricultural Faculty, University of North Sumatra held in April to August 2011. This research used split plot design with 5x5 treatments and 4 replications. The research results indicated that the intensity of shading (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) and the concentration of NAA (0 ppm, 1 ppm, 1.5 ppm, 2 ppm) has not been able yet to trigger the formation of roots on stem cuttings Buni, the life percentage, the percentage of buds, the increase of buds and the length of the root. Formation of buds that grow was suspected from the food supplies of the plant.
