- Hepatitis B immunization is given to babies (0 to 7 days old) by injecting them with Hepatitis B vaccine in order to form active immunity against Hepatitis B disease. The coverage of giving Hepatitis B immunization to babies (0 to 7 days old) at the working area of Secanggang Health Center, Langkat District, in 2010 was far from being expected as it was stipulated in the Decree of Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 741/PER/VII/2008 on the Standard of Minimum Service of the District/Towns which had to be 100%. The research was a survey with explanatory research type which was aimed to explain the influences of knowledge, family support, and confidence on the giving of Hepatitis B immunization to babies (0 to 7 days old) at Selotong village, Secanggang Subdistrict, Langkat District, in 2011. The population in this research were 136 mothers who had babies from January to December 2011 at Selotong village, Secanggang Subdistrict, Langkat District; 58 of them were used as the samples. The primary data were collected by using interviews with questionnaires and analyzed by using logistic regression test. The results of the research showed that the variable which influenced on the giving of Hepatitis B Immunization to babies (0 to 7 days old) were knowledge (p=0.045), family support (p=0.017), and confidence (p=0.018). it is recommended that Secanggang Health Center should increase the immunization workers quality service, especially in servicing Hepatitis B immunization to babies (0 to 7 days old) and give information about the disease to the people by conducting training to the immunization officers so that immunization could be done smoothly. It is also recommended that the immunization counseling, especially Hepatitis B immunization counseling not given to mothers who had babies but also to the family members so that family support and confidence in giving Hepatitis B immunization to babies (0 to 7 days old) could be increased.
