- Computers have been widely used in various fields which is one of them one of them at health sector is characterized by the presence of an expert system used to diagnose a disease. Expert system is designed to assist paramedics in taking a decision to provide early treatment of an illness as early treatment to the diarrhea patients. Diarrhea is a symptom of digestive or gastrointestinal tract infections can be caused by various bacteria, viruses or parasites. According to the duration of diarrhea, it can be divided into two types, they are acute diarrhea and chronic diarrhea. Acute diarrhea clinically can be subdivided into two types, those are of dysentery and cholera. The method used in the design of this expert system are advanced or forward chaining reasoning and us the knowledge representation deals with production rule. Consultation process shape the questions that ultimately will lead to the conclusion of the type of disease which is suffered and treatment therapies. In theend, the expert system will display a selection of symptoms which is suffered by the patient, type of illness, rehydration therapy and the treatment restore the symptoms suffered. This expert system also provides information in the form of therapy info, list of diseases that also the results of the consultation.
