- Preparation and characterization of polymer roof by using asphalt material with powder mixture of worn tyres and polypropylene has been done. In the manufacturing of polymer roof to getting the optimum mixture made by different composition is 80g : 10g; 70g : 20g; 60g : 30g; 50g : 40g; 40g : 50g; 30g : 60g; 20g : 70g; and 10g : 80g with addition 10g asphalt as an adhesive, dikumil peroxide (DCP) 1g and divinil benzene (DVB) 1g as an initiator which extrusion for 30 minutes ,than pressed for 2 hours at 170o C and pressure of 38 atm. The characterization of polymer roof including the mechanical properties is the impact test and flexural strength test . The physical properties including porosity and water absorbtion. The Thermal properties including flash point and burning point. The results show that the optimum mixture is polypropylene mixture (PP) and powder mixture of worn tyres with a ratio 60g : 30g which getting good mechanical strength and physical properties with addition 10g asphalt as an initiator and waterproof.
