  • The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of Rootone F and NAA as plant growth regulator to the success cutting stem of Antidesma bunius L.Spreng. This research was conducted in gauzing house and forestry biotectonology laboratory, Forestry Major, Agricultural Faculty, North Sumatera University, from March to July 2011. This research is arranged in non factorial completely design with 9 treatments. The treatment consisted of A0 as kontrol; A1 as Rootone F 25 ppm: A2 as Rootone F 50 ppm; A3 as Rootone F 75 ppm; A4as Rootone F 100 ppm; A5 as NAA 0,5 ppm; A6 as NAA 1 ppm; A7 as NAA 1,5 ppm; A8 as NAA 2 ppm. The parameters were live percentage, bud percentage and number of bud. the monitoring was conducted every 10 days. The results show that giving plant growth regulator neither NAA (0,5 ppm, 1 ppm, 1,5 ppm, 2 ppm) nor Rootone F (25 ppm, 50 ppm, 75 ppm, 100 ppm) can support root induction. But the bud induction still happened. Bud induction is predicted base on carbohydrate which is available in the cutting, look at the control, it can form bud without treatment. The highest live percentage and number of bud were found in 10 days after planting, while the highest bud percentage was found in 20 days after planting. Need extending research with the higher concentrate to know the success cutting stem of buni.
