  • Research was conducted to analyze the purity content of glycerin by sodium meta periodate methode and element the iron (Fe) and zinkum (Zn) using Atomic Absorption Spectrofotometry (AAS). Sample at unbleach glycerin and refined glycerin. The result of analisys shows the sample of unbleach glycerin is to glycerin content 99.86%, the value of iron element (Fe) is 1.1291 ± 0.0439 mg/L and the value of zinkum element (Zn) is 0.0122 ± 0.0053 mg/L. To sample Refined glycerin to get result of analysis is glycerin content 99.87%, the value of iron element (Fe) is 0.1229 ± 0,0010 mg/L and the value of zinkum element (Zn) is 0.0034 ± 0.0008 mg/L. From result of research shows of purity content, the value of iron element (Fe) and the value of zinkum element (Zn) from glycerin still meet spesification of The United States Pharmacopeia (USP).
