- The issuance of the Governmental Rule No. 51 of 2009 regarding pharmacy work lead some newer regulations. The implementation of these newer regulations result in 4 pharmaceutical consequences, including recovery of drugstore function according to the rule, increase in the role of pharmacists, increase in cost expense and workload. The objective of the study is to know how the response of the investors of drugstores in Medan to the Governmental Rule No. 51 of 2009 regarding the Pharmaceutical Work viewed in terms of the four consequences. The study is a descriptive method using a cross-sectional survey in some drugstores in Medan. The data included the responses of 26 investors (Foreign Investment) to the questionnaire each of which consists of 3 options ; agree, abstain, and disagree. The result of the study showed that majority of the investors of drugstores in Medan to the Governmental Rule No. 51 of 2009 regarding the pharmaceutical work included disagree. In detail, the distribution in percentage of their responses included 63% of disagree, 3% of abstain and 34% of agree. Viewed in terms of the disagreement percentage to each consequence is that 67% to the recovery of the drugstore function according to the rule, 89% to the improvement in role of pharmacists , 57% to the increase in workload of drugstore and 10% to the increase in workload in drugstore.
