  • Research and testing for the profile by adding gypsum fiber palm sugar (Arenga pinata) and acrylic latex binder has been conducted. Method for making specimen using a hot press molding to obtain a more homogeneous fusion materials for gypsum composition, palm fiber and latex acrylic . From the testing that has been conducted found that physical properties of materials: Density had passed with increasing fiber, where the value of the maximum density on the composition of 2.339 gr/cm3 on gypsum : fiber fibers: acrylic latex 375:25:100. Water uptake decreased with increasing fibers, where there is maximum uptake of 34.39% on the composition 395:05:100. From testing the mechanical properties of the specimens as follows: The maximum value of impact testing of 9.2 x 10-2 J/cm2 on 375:25:100 composition, tensile test values to a maximum of 414.05 kPa, on the composition of 375: 25: 100, Test flexural strength (MOE ) the maximum value of 3552.21 kg/cm2 at 375:25:100 composition, robust Test MOR maximum value of 3.5 Mpa at composition 375; 25; 100. The results of mechanical tests have shown that the composition 375:25:100 optimum value of each test. Test data obtained from DTA temperature both endothermic and exothermic temperatures, where the temperature is 155 oC endotermic, exothermic temperature (glass temperature 255 oC, 280 oC critical temperature and melting temperature of 360 oC), for the composition of 375:25: 100
