- The aims of this research is to compare the financial performance of Islamic Banking and the Conventional Banking period December 2005 - September 2010. The parameters used to compare the financial performance of banks is to use the financial ratios include CAR, ROA, ROE, BOPO, and LDR. The results were obtained ROA, ROE, and LDR ratios in Islamic banking is better than conventional banking. While, CAR and BOPO ratios in conventional banking better than the Islamic banking in the study period. Overall, the performance of Islamic banking is better than conventional banking. This is due to CAR Islamic and conventional banks conventional banks have no significant difference, although the conventional banking CAR is better than Islamic banking.
