- Non-aqueous titration is one of method common used to determine ethambutol hydrochloride. In qualitative analysis one of the reaction for ethambutol hydrochloride identification is coloured complex formation between CuSO4 and ethambutol hydrochloride in alkali condition and yield blue product was stabled about 4 minutes and giving maximum absorption at 620 nm. The concentration of ethambutol hydrochloride was calculated by using standard curve Y = 0,000543X + 0,004667, r = 0,9998. The result from non aqueous titration and visible spectrophotometry are 98,18 ± 1,41% and 97,24 ± 4,85% for Arsitam tablet, 101,65 ± 1,38% and 103,52 ± 3,95% for Kalbutol tablet, 99,90 ± 2,0% and 99,51 ± 2,83% for Etibi tablet. T-pair test showed nothing significance difference from both of yield. The results still allow Indonesian Pharmacopeia ed IV that mention ethambutol tablet must contain etambutol hydrochloride not less about 95,0 % and not more about 105,0% from total as described in etiquette.
