- The using biofertilizers (rhizobium and mycorrhiza) with tolerance of varieties soybean is one alternative to increase yield of soybean in the ultisol soil. The aim of this research was to evaluated effects of biofertilizers (rhizobium and mycorrhiza) to the growth and yield of some varieties soybean in the ultisol soil. The research was filed Agriculture Faculty, North Sumatera University, Medan from May 2008 until August 2008. The experimental design was arranged in a randomized block design using with two factor and three replication. The first factor is soybean varieties : Burangrang, Sinabung, and Wilis. The second factor is boifertilizers, consisted of not inoculated by biofertilizers (control), inoculated by rhizobium, inoculated by mycorrhiza and inoculated by rhizobium and mycorrhiza. The research result showed that Wilis will gave highst response to plant after 2 weeks until 6 weeks, planted age of flowering, number of nodule, number of branch, the time of harvesting, weight of fresh root, weight of fresh leaf, ratio weight of fresh root to weight of fresh leaf, weight of dry root, weight of dry leaf, ratio weight of dry root to weight of dry leaf, number of pods per plant, weight of dry seed per plant. Inoculated by rhizobium and mycorrhiza will gave highst response to plant after 6 weeks, number of nodule, weight of fresh leaf and weight of dry leaf. The interaction of variety Wilis and inoculated by rhizobium and mycorrhiza will gave affected to number of nodule. Wilis variety with inoculated by rhizobium and mycorrhiza will be increased yield of soybean in the ultisol soil
