- Paddy mill is an informal sector processing the paddy into rice for commercial as main food. The pulmonary function is the result of lung function measurement by using spyrometry of Microlab ML 3500 type. This was a descriptive research to know the description of pulmonary function in rice mill workers of Porsea sub district in 2010. The population of research was 10 rice mills and four mills of them were taken as sample with 35 workers. The result of research indicated that 17 workers (48.57%) suffered from decreased function of lung. In age group of 20-39 years, there were 11 workers (31.43%) to suffer from decreased function of lung, in worked term of 6 years, there were five workers (14.29%) to suffer from decreased function of lung; and 26 workers (74.28%) did not wear the personal protective, 17 workers (48.57%) of them suffered form decreased function of lung, 17 workers (48.57%) of 27 smokers (77.14%) suffered from decreased function of lung, 11 workers (31.40%) of 38 workers (85.71%) without previous disease record suffered from decreased function of lung. It is the suggested for workers who suffered form decreased function of lung to take further check out, and the workers should wear the personal protective and for mill management to perform the extension.
