- Research on decomposition rate of buta-buta (Excoecaria agallocha) litter was carried out in Tanjung Rejo Village, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province from September to November 2017. The objective of this study was to measure the production and decomposition rate of buta-buta (Excoecaria agallocha) leaf litter. The decomposition of buta-buta (Excoecaria agallocha) litter occurs characterized by a reduction in litter weight for each observation period. The decomposition rate tends to increase every week, which is from 0.015 g / day on the 7th day and reaches 0.255 g / day on the 56th day. The high decomposition rate of buta-buta (Excoecaria agallocha) leaf litter with a value of k per day> 0.01 g / day. The largest production of buta-buta (Excoecaria agallocha) leaf litter was in week VI, which was 5.56 g in October and the lowest production was in week VII, which was 2.4 g in October.
- Penelitian laju dekomposisi serasah daun buta-buta (Excoecaria agallocha) dilaksanakan di Desa Tanjung Rejo Kabupaten Deli Serdang Provinsi Sumatera Utara mulai September sampai dengan November 2017. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengukur produksi dan laju dekomposisi serasah daun buta-buta (Excoecaria agallocha). Dekomposisi serasah buta-buta (Excoecaria agallocha) terjadi ditandai dengan adanya pengurangan bobot serasah setiap periode pengamatan. Laju dekomposisinya cenderung semakin meningkat setiap minggu, yaitu dari 0,015 g/hari di hari ke-7 dan mencapai 0,255 g/hari di hari ke-56. Laju dekomposisi serasah daun buta-buta (Excoecaria agallocha) yang tergolong tinggi dengan nilai k per hari > 0,01 g/hari. Produksi serasah daun buta-buta (Excoecaria agallocha) terbesar terdapat pada minggu VI, yaitu 5,56 g pada bulan Oktober dan produksi terendah adalah pada minggu ke VII, yaitu 2,4 g pada bulan Oktober.
