  • Identification is a process to learn and to know what happened in the past and its relation with the aim. The data that is needed in an identification is nationality, sex, age, skin colour, appearance, hair, finger print of hand and foot, anthropometry of the body, deformity, the mark of identification such as scar, blood checking, etc. This research is due to measure the cephalic index between two different ethnics and compare them to see the difference of the cephalic index from male and female from those different ethnics. The subject of this research are Bataknese and Chinese students of the 10th and 11th grade from SMA Santo Thomas 1. This research is an analytic research with cross-sectional design study. Sample is collected by consecutive sampling method, then analyzed by Independent sample t-test. Based on the research, the average of the cephalic index from the male bataknese is 67,6, female is 68,6, and the tottal average of the cephalic index for Bataknese is 67,9. The average of the cephalic index from the male Chinese is 85,9, female is 85,1 and the tottal average of the cephalic index for Chinese is 8,5. Based on the analysis by independent sample t-test, the result of P is more than 0,5, therefore, the conclusion is, there is a difference between the cephalic index of the Bataknese and Chinese. To know the cephalic index of different ethnics, a furthermore research is needed to be done.
