- Has been investigated in making particle board form sawdust palm stem using adhesive polypropylene with maleic anhidrad difungsinonalisasi. Polypropylene is degraded by using 2% BPO in the internal mixer at a temperature of 170oC and difungsionalisasi with maleic anhydride then be purified. Particle board is formed by mixing polypropylene degradation difungsionalisasi maleic anhydride with 80 mesh palm stem sawdust and divinyl benzene. Particle board which is formed were obtained in the water content get result in the 0,43% - 0,85% range. Testing thickness swelling due to water immersion get result in the 0% - 6,09% range. The result obtained from testing the water content and thickness swelling after water soaking showed that the particle board that was formed to meet the conditions in which the water content SNI particleboard is not ≥ 14% and thickness swelling after immersion water is not ≥ 20%.Test for flexural strength and modulus of elasticity of particle board is obtained optimum value ratio 60 : 30 between mixture of sawdust palm stem oil and polypropylene modified with maleic anhydride with MoR value of 198,75 kgf/cm2 and the MoE 72290,25 kgf/cm2 that meet SNI rule 03-2105-2006.
