  • The characterization of ethanol extract and comparison test antiinflammatory effects of ethylacetate fraction of dandang gendis (Clinacanthus nutans (Burm.f.) Lindau) leaves, suspension and from a matrix was trapped into nata decoco made orally on the sole of the foot inflammation induced rat carrageenan 1%. Dandang gendis leaves powder was extracted by used 80% ethanolic, it was fractionation with n-hexane and ethylacetate. Ethylacetate fraction is obtained evaporated by rotary evaporator and dried with a freeze dryer at a temperature of -40oC. Ethanol extract obtained by the characterization and was trapped into the matrix of nata de coco by immersing the matrix nata de coco into ethylacetate fraction over 24 hours, then dried in a freeze dryer. Tests for antiinflammatory effects of white rats used were divided into 10 groups, control (CMC 0.5% and nata de coco), a comparison of indomethacin (suspension and was trapped into nata de coco matrix) dose of 10 mg/kg, ethylacetate fraction of dandang gendis leaves (suspension and was trapped into nata de coco matrix) doses of 30, 45 and 60 mg/kg, as inflammation induced is carrageenan 1% by intraplantar in the rat foot. Measurement of rat foot volume was measured with a digital plestimometer Ugo Basile. The results of characterization of ethanol leaf extracts of crude drugs and dandang gendis successively to the water content is 7.16% and 7.083%, the concentration of water soluble extract 10.49% and 10.930%, soluble in ethanol extract concentration 10.70% and 18.579% , total ash 6.10% and 4.582%, ash insoluble in acid 0.64% and 0.696%. Ethyl acetate fraction of dandang gendis leaves have antiinflammatory effects both in the form of suspension or diperangkapkan in the matrix of nata de coco. The difference between the suspension with a diperangkapkan in the matrix of nata de coco looks at widening the peak percent inflammation from t180 to t240 in a row is dosisi 60 mg / KgBW give the highest percentage of 40.53%, inflammation of the treatment to 40.78% in t180 t240 treatment , the dose of 45 mg / KgBW give the highest percentage of 53.72%, inflammation in the treatment t180 into t240 60.89% in treatment, the dose of 30 mg / KgBW give the highest percentage of 60.01%, inflammation of the treatment to 68.65% in t180 t240 treatment. Dose of 60 mg / KgBW have a better effect than the doses of 30 and 45 mg / KgBW and have the same effect with indomethacin dose of 10 mg / kg BW at α ≤ 0.05.
