Effect of combination of drying time and storage time on the viability of the seeds of yam bean has not been widely researched in this area. For that a study has been conducted in the Laboratory of Biology, Faculty of Agriculture USU ( + 25 m asl) March – May 2010 using a completely randomized design factorial two factors are drying time with four levels (K0 = 0 day, K1 = 1 day, K2 = 2 days and K3 = 3 days), periode of storage with five levels (S0 = 0 week, S1 = 2 weeks, S2 = 4 weeks, S3 = 6 weeks, and S4 = 8 weeks). The results showed that the drying time significantly affected the parameters observed water content of seeds, germination rate, germination percentage. Length of storage significantly affected the parameters of the rate of germination, germination percentage, seedling fresh weight. Interaction between drying time and storage time significantly affected the germination rate of the observation parameters, the percentage of germination, seedling fresh weight.
