- This research was held atscreen houseof Agriculture’s faculty of North Sumatera University(30 m asl) from June to September 2017 using factorial randomized block design with 2 treatment factor. The first factor is planting media with four typ, M1(top soil), M2 (top soil:sand (2 : 1)), M3(top soil : rice husk (2 : 1)), M4(top soil :carcoal husk (2: 1)) and watering frequency,F0(Watered once for 1 day), F1(Watered once for 4 days),F2 (Watered once for 7 days) and F3 (Watered once for 10 days). The observed parameters were plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, total leaf area, shoot fresh weight, root fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root dry weight, longest root,shoot and root ratio. The results showed that planting media treatment had significant effect on plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, total leaf area, shoot fresh weight, root fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root dry weight, longest root, shoot and root ratio. The best treatment of planting medium was found on M3(top soil : rice husk (2 : 1)). The treatment of watering frequency had significant effect on stem diameter 2 - 12 MSPT, total leaf area, shoot fresh weight, root fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root dry weight. The best possible frequency of watering is in F1(Watered once for 4 days). The interaction between the two treatments had significant effect on the stem diameter, the leaf area and shoot fresh weight.
- Penelitian ini dilakukan di lahan pertanian Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan (32 m dpl) pada bulan Junisampai September 2017. Metode percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 2 faktor perlakuan yaitu, faktor 1: media tanam yakni,M1(top soil), M2 (top soil : pasir(2 : 1)), M3(top soil : sekam padi (2 : 1)), M4 (top soil : arang sekam (2 : 1))dan faktor 2 : frekuensi penyiramanyakni, F0(disiram 1 hari sekali), F1 (disiram 4 hari sekali), F2(disiram 7 hari sekali) dan F4 (disiram 10 hari sekali). Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah daun, total luas daun, bobot segar tajuk,bobot kering tajuk, bobot segar akar, bobot kering akar, akar terpanjang, dan rasio tajuk dan akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan media tanam berpengaruh nyata terhadap peubah amatan tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah daun, total luas daun, bobot segar tajuk, bobot kering tajuk, bobot segar akar, bobot kering akar, dan rasio tajuk dan akar. Perlakuan media tanam terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan M3 (top soil : sekam padi (2 : 1)), Perlakuan frekuensi penyiraman berpengaruh nyata pada peubah amatan diameter batang2 – 12 MSPT,total luas daun, bobot segar tajuk, bobot kering tajuk, bobot segar akar, dan bobot kering akar. Perlakauan frekuensipenyiraman terbaik terdapat pada F1 (disiram 4 hari sekali). Interaksi antara kedua perlakuan berpengaruh nyata terhadap peubah amatan diameter batang, luas daun dan bobot segar tajuk.
