  • Lack of fitness of the post may cause the post to be failed. A laboratory research has been conducted to investigate the shrinkage differentiation of 2 post pattern materials (resin and wax) in a matter of time storage. Marginal measurement was done at the master die with the Electric Measurement Microscope MM-40 Nikon, at 15 minutes, 30 minutes and 24 hours. Descriptively, the result showed that there was an increase in shrinkage of both materials in line with the time storage. The shrinkage of wax were bigger compared to resin in all time storage. In conclusion, both materials have relatively same linear shrinkage in 15 minutes time storage, therefore both can be used as post pattern material.
