- Many maxillofacial cases are done unintegrated, and up unsatisfied. Integrated maxillofacial cases. Before the surgery done, the team should discuss and outline the proposed surgical resection together on the study cast. Afterwards the surgical obturator is fabricated and inserted immediately after the operation. This appliance will restore and maintain its stomatognathic function during the postoperative period until healing is completed and the surgical site stable dimensionally, before the definitive prosthesis can be constructed. In this study, 10 maxillofacial cases were reported, 8 cases were done integrated, and 2 cases unintegrated. Result showed that the integrated rehabilitation gave comfort as well as esthetic. It was concluded that integrated rehabilitation should be the method of choice for patients with acquired maxillofacial defects.
