  • The tissue compatibility of the oral tissue to the processed denture base materials has been a subject of considerable contention. Completely polymerized polymethyl methacrylate do not cause toxicity reactions, but that methyl methacrylate monomer or other trace components in the monomer may produce toxicity reaction of the oral tissues. The widely used methods are initial test, secondary test and preclinical usage test. Toxicity effect can be eliminated or reduced by processing for longer times in boiling water or processing by microwave curing method, soaking the denture before insertion, using the light activated denture base materials.
