  • Osteoporosis is a condition of generalised skeletal fragility caused by diminishing bone amount and disturbance in bone microarchitecture with implication that the bone's ability to withstand forces is decreased. This condition leads to more bone resorption. Some researchers show that this condition also affects jaw bone. Therefore we must take this condition into consideration during prothodontic treatment. Dental prostheses are made to restore stomatognatic function as well as to preserve what was left including alveolar bone. The ability of dental prostheses to preserve residual alveolar bone differs according to type of prostheses. The case presented here propose the treatment of osteoporotic female in Prosthodontics Clinic FKG UI with removable partial denture. Considerations in selecting the type and design of dental prostheses and attempts to modify factors that might play a role in bone resorption in connection with the patient's physical and psychological status will be discussed. Thorough examination, careful planning and good communication with the patient can provide optimum results.
