- This article aims to determine the role of information technology in library automation system based on SLiMS. Library as an information unit is required to follow the development of information technology in order to remain exist and not left by its users. Utilization of information technology in the field of library known as library automation system. One of the library automation software that is still developing is SLiMS. SLiMS is able to run the administrative functions of the library more effectively and efficiently. The existence of SLiMS supported by the role of information technology is growing very rapidly. Information technology becomes a means of building technology-based libraries which it presence cannot be avoided.
