- Faster technology development and application in all aspects of human life will need more human resources who are able to utilize the high technology instruments. Human resource market will need more individuals with good competence to use and utilize this high technology instrument. To deliver the respective individuals, the need of university which has information technology as one of its major is a must. Looking from the perspective of economic value, higher education of information technology major will give a significant benefit. In this research, the researcher will calculate the economic value by using Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Benefit Cost Ratio (B/C Ratio) approach. It is hoped that this research will give understanding to society on the importance of higher education and will support on improvement of the social and economic quality of individual in particular and the society in general.
