- Global Economy has opened various investment options in our nation. One type of investment that gets a lot of attention these days is to invest in gold. The price of gold which is tends to rise and the inflation condition of our nation has make many people said that investment in gold is the right thing to be concern. As scholars, we certainly have to prove it first. This paper tries to analyze the investment by using financial and economic analysis. Data of gold price; interest rate; and IDR-USD exchange rate are processed using various financial methods such as Net Present Value (NPV), and Internal rate of return (IRR) to determine the profitability of this investment. The end result shows that investment in gold in the last five years is actually more profitable than investment in deposits. Although the rumors and statement about the investment is correct but people still need to be careful and do investment after being analyzed first.
