- Background: Everyone might have different perceptions of their dental health. A good perception of one's dental health has not guaranteed that the teeth in his oral cavity are truly healthy. Purpose: To know the perceptions of the first grade elementary school students in sub-district X Bandung regarding their dental health. Methods: The study was conducted with cross-sectional design. Total of 240 students from six elementary schools in sub-district X Bandung who met the inclusion criteria participated in this study. The study was conducted by interview using a questionnaire followed by dental examination. Results: The def-t score in this population was 8.25 with caries prevalence 96.6%. 59.5% of subjects said they have good dental health. Only 25.8% of subjects realized that they had problems with dental health, 14.6% of subjects could not determine the condition of their dental health. Conclusion: Most of the first grade elementary school students in the sub-district X Bandung need to be given knowledge about the condition of healthy teeth.
