- This research background by the findings in the learning process in the classroom VI SDN Cibeber I Cibeber District Cilegon. Many students who have not been able to achieve a predetermined standard KKM, which is 65. In the implementation of teacher learning are less motivating to students' learning and teachers have not been using / learning model that fits the needs of students, so that students are not enthusiastic in participating in social studies learning, other than that the participation or involvement of the students became less active because students are not given the agreements to explore knowledge. The purpose of this study is to improve student learning outcomes in social studies using a model of social inquiry learning. This study was conducted in September 2014. The subjects were students of class VI SDN Cibeber I Cilegon with a number of 39 students consisting of 18 girls and 21 students. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of 2 cycles. Cycle I held on December 12 and September 16, cycle performed on 19 and 23 September. Each cycle consists of lesson planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results showed an increase in activity and student learning outcomes in social studies in each cycle. In the first cycle of the first meeting of student activity reached 60% and in the second meeting reached 86.67%. At the first meeting of the second cycle of student activity reached 80% and in the second meeting reached 93.33%. Improved student learning outcomes in the first cycle of 84.61% and an increase in student learning outcomes in second cycle reached 92.30%. Based on the results obtained during the second cycle shows that student learning outcomes in social studies can be increased by using a model of social inquiry learning.
