  • Classroom Action Research (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas) is very important to improve the quality of learning. The purpose of this study to improve student learning outcomes in science subjects in Class V SDN Tunggak Bojonegara District of Serang. Classroom Action Research was conducted because of the low student learning outcomes in science subjects. Practical and Simple Magnifying Glass Making Periscope Model is expected to improve student learning outcomes in science subjects. The focus of this action research is to improve student learning outcomes in subjects of Natural Science (IPA) in the fifth grade students of SDN Tunggak 2013-2014 school year the District Bojonegara Serang, amounting to 30 students. Classroom action research data obtained using research instruments that have been prepared, namely, achievement test, product assessment rubric, field notes and photographs. Implementation of action research consists of the first cycle and second cycle. Based on the results of action research that has been conducted lab-making simple magnifier and periscope models can improve student learning outcomes. Students are more enthusiastic and active in learning. Based on the data obtained from the results of research in the field of action of this class increases student learning outcomes and better in each cycle compared with the initial conditions prior to the action. Initial conditions prior to the action, student learning outcomes by 20%. In the first cycle, student achievement should be diprosentasekan by 80.37% and the second cycle was 81.47%. Based on the results of action of this class, the teacher advised the class to use the practical manufacture of a simple magnifying glass and moel periscope in the implementation of learning science as a solution to improve student learning outcomes.
