  • This research aims to increase student activity and improving student learning outcomes in natural features and social concepts in neighboring countries by using the model of learning by doing . This research was carried out because of the low value of student learning outcomes in the concept. Subjects in this study were 18 students . Data collection techniques were used , namely , interview on pre-cycle, observation, written test, and documentation . While the instruments used for data collection which tests students' learning outcomes in the form of a written test and observation sheet . The results showed that an increase in student activity also led to increased student learning outcomes . In the first cycle the percentage of student activity reached 68 % , while in the second cycle increased the percentage of student activity reached 100 % . In the first cycle of learning that reaches the KKM ( 60 ) is 22.22 % with a mean value of student learning outcomes is 55,27 % . While the results of the test on the second cycle which reaches the KKM (60) is 100 % with an average value of student learning outcomes is 81.11 % . The results of the test after the learning process is classified by category very well with indicators of success, reaching values above KKM as much as 100 % . It shows that using model learning by doing can improve student learning outcomes . Keywords: Learning Model of Learning By Doing, Learning Social Studies, Learning outcomes.
