  • Activity III C grade students at SDN Serang 3 is still not optimal because students tend to just listen to the teacher's learning materials. This resulted in most of the learning outcomes have not yet reached the specified value KKM is ≥70. This study aims to implement PMR approach in mathematics learning activities in an effort to increase the activity and results of third grade students learn math SD using action research methods class. By using PMR, through realistic problems that confronted the students giving them the opportunity to respond in accordance with the results of observations made by the students themselves so that the impression they receive better and longer they remember, and all students can be active during the learning process and learning outcomes obtained by the students achieve a predetermined outcome. This study consisted of two cycles. Data obtained activity data include students in learning and mathematics student learning outcomes. Data analysis was performed by comparing the results of cycle 1 and cycle 2 with indicators of success. Research carried out by third grade students taking the subject in teaching 2014-2015 C totaling 34 students. These results indicate the data obtained from the learning process in improving activity and learning outcomes using PMR approach has increased. In the first cycle of the average student activity reached 68.04% and increased in cycles 2 to 80.05% with good criteria. Student learning outcomes obtained in cycle 1 was 59% or as many as 20 students who completed, and the second cycle increased to 85% or a total of 29 students who completed. It can be concluded that the approach Realistic Mathematics Education (PMR) may enhance the activity and results for students at SDN Serang 3.
