- The purpose of this research was to know the correlation between skill process and cognitive abilities of student in the practice of acid rain effect experiment. The research method used correlation descriptive method. The activities of this research takes place on 13 to 23 March 2014.The population was all student of grade VII SMPN 1 Kragilan academic year 2013/2014, with a sample of research grade VII C taken by random sampling technique. The skill process of student’s was measure by observation sheet. Cognitive abilities of student’s was measured by 20 multiple choice questions. The result showed that skill process of students was categorized as very good, with the average value of 80,36. Cognitive abilities of student’s was categorized as good, with the average value of 70,08. The correlation of the test result was 0,877 with a significance test of 0,000. It showed that there is a very strong relationship between skill procces of students and cognitive abilityof students.
