- n this study, the author take the problems about the performance of Civil Servant with research focus is Civil Servant’s Investigator (PPNS) in Tangerang City, and the problem formulation is how much level of performance implementation by Civil Servant’s Investigator, so it’s aim to determine the performance results of Civil Servant’s Investigator in Tangerang City. In order for targeted research, research was conducted in the Office of Environmental Control Agency, the Department of Information and Communication, Department of Health, Department of Labor, Department of Transportation, and the Civil Service Police Unit. The grand theory that used by author is performance appraisal belongs to Agus Dwiyanto (2006) which consist of 5 indicators i.e. productivity, quality of service, responsiveness, responsibility and accountability. The research method is descriptive quantitative method. The researcher used a technique in data collection were questionnaires, interviews, observation and documentation of this research using sampling techniques with the area proportional random sampling method is a way of collecting data that takes proportionately and randomly samples in each area with a population sample was 247 respondents. Results from this study showed that the performance of Civil Servant’s Investigators in Tangerang City reached 67.18% and it’s means if the performance of Civil Servant’s Investigators in Tangerang City did not run effectively. If viewed from the criteria range categories of the fifth indicators of performance variable of Civil Servant’s Investigator in Tangerang City, has known that there are three indicators that the results are not good, namely productivity, responsibility and accountability, while there are two indicators that get good results namely the quality of service and responsiveness. At the final of this research, the author propose several recommendations i.e. Civil Servant’s Investigator should increase the competence and motivation of working, and should further enhance the quality of coordination relationship with Police Investigators in Republic of Indonesia and related institutions, then should always work according to the rules and operational guidelines that applicable, and also ought more frequently perform sosialization to public so that people know the role and functions of the Civil Servant’s Investigators in Tangerang City.
