  • The purpose of this research is to know the difference of critical thinking ability of students using cooperative learning model of TAI type "Team Assisted Individualization" and students using direct learning model in grade V students SDN Cembeh academic year 2018/2019. This research method used Quasi Experiments with population of 64 students which then divided into 2 groups of classes that is experimental class using cooperative learning model type TAI "Team Assisted Individualization" with the number of 32 students and control class by using direct learning model with the number of students 32. The conclusion obtained by the calculation results, obtained t count> t table of 39.494.9 ≥ 2,003.6, according to the basis of decision-making in t-test, it can be concluded H_o rejected and H_α accepted, which means there are differences in thinking skills Critical students using Cooperative Learning Model type TAI "Team Assisted Individualization" with students using the Direct Learning Model. Then Value t arithmetic> t table or 39.4949> 1.6706 which means H_o rejected and H_α accepted. According to the hypothesis testing 2 if H_o <α then H_α is accepted, which means that according to the use of cooperative learning model TAI type "Team Assisted Individualization" is better than students who use direct learning model on Social Science subject.
