- The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the use of cooperative learning model of the STAD type of mathematical problem solving ability in mathematics learning material simple plane. This research method is the method of experimentation with forms of research Quasi Experimental Design (quasi-experimental) and form design non-equivalent control group. The population in this study were all students of SDN Sepring and SDN Pancur of the school year 2017/2018. Of the total number of classes taken two classes as samples using purposive sampling. Thus obtained the experimental class is class IV A SDN Sepring, where the classes on learning using cooperative learning model of the type of STAD and control class is class IV B SDN Sepring, where the classes in the learning process using direct instruction model.
