  • This study aims to determine students' critical thinking skills through the use of Inside Outside Circle (IOC) Learning models with Number Head Together (NHT) learning models on social studies subjects in the effort to maintain independence.The research method used is quasi experiment with the Nonequivalent Control Group design. The sample in this study was purposive sampling to select two classes as research subjects.In this study VA class consisting of 30 students as the experimental class I used the Inside Outside Circle (IOC) learning model and in the VB class consisting of 30 students as the experimental class II using Number Head Together (NHT) learning model. The results showed that the average value of critical thinking skills of students who received the Inside Outside Circle (IOC) Learning model was 75.56 higher than the average value obtained in the 50.1 Number Head Together (NHT) learning model. So that the critical thinking skills of students who get the Inside Outside Circle (IOC) learning model are better than those who get the Number Head Together (NHT) learning model.
