  • This research aims to obtain data and information about the use of the media learning Quite Book of Activity Daily Living as alternative learning media in improving the ability of self care for the community and take care of themselves child mental retardation are class IV SDLB in SKh Samantha Serang through learning media Quite Book of Activity Daily Living. This research is experimental research with Pre-Experimental Design using design one group pretest posttest design. In this design there is a pretest, where researchers look at the learners at the time before the treatment given After seeing the results of a pretest is given preferential treatment. The treatment given to this research is given a learning exercise self care for the community and take care of themselves. After being given the treatment, performed posttest, where researchers see the results of the treatment has been carried out by researchers. Sample techniques used in this research is purposive sampling is a technique of determining the sample with particular consideration of the subject is students mental retardation are class IV at a special school Samantha Serang. With a population of as many as 3 students. The components were analyzed in this study i.e. bina upgrade themselves to take care and take care of themselves. The results of the research showed the existence of a positive influence on the use of alternative learning media Quite Book of Activity Daily Living against the ability of the community development student mental retardation. It can be seen an increase in the ability of the community development student based on analysis of data by using a percentage increase in overall student obtained F increase of 61.11% of students D increase of 51.73% and M increase of 63.87% of these Things indicate that the ability of self care for the community and take care of yourself students increased, with using alternative media quite book of daily living activity in children mental retardation are class IV at SKh Samantha Serang.
