- This research is shown to know the effect of flashcard media and reality object media on the ability to write essay description of the students in class VII SMPN 18 Serang City. This research is done by using test technique, that is pretest and posttest. Formulation of the problems in this research, that is "Is the use of flashcard media and reality object's media affect the results of writing essay writing a description of students of class VII SMPN 18 Serang City?", and "Is there a significant difference between the use of flashcard media and reality object made of the writing of the description of the seventh grade students of SMPN 18 Serang City?". The purpose of this research is to know the effect of flashcard media and reality object media on the result of writing essay description of the students of class VII SMPN 18 Serang City. This research uses experimental method with Pre-Experimental Design design with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample used in this research is one class, that is class VII B. Based on the analysis of research data obtained conclusion of learning result writing student description by using flashcard media got average value equal to 77,68 with pretest value equal to 64,76. The use of reality objects media got an average value of 73,24 with a pretest value of 66,2. Based on these data, the increase of flashcard media usage result is higher than reality object media with value difference of 4,44 points. The result of this research stated that the flashcard media is better than the reality object media to the result of writing essay description of the students of class VII SMPN 18 Serang City.
