- This study aims to develop learning media to improve student learning interest in IPS subjects on the material of the struggle leaders to proclaim Indonesian independence in class V SD Negeri Ciruas 4. This research is a type of R & D development (Research And Development) which refers to the development of Brog and Gall that has been modified by Sugiyono. The research was conducted with the steps of problem analysis, data collection, product design, Expert Test validation, product revision and limited trial. products developed in the feasibility test with validation by media experts, material experts, educational experts and conducted limited trials to 25 students. Instruments used to collect data are questionnaires, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The results showed that the validation of media experts obtained an average grade of 99% including into the category very feasible, validation of material experts get an average grade of 99% including into the category is very reasonable, the validation of educational experts get an average value of 97% including into the category feasible and limited trials obtained an average grade of 90.84% included in the very viable category and the result of students' interest in learning before using learning media obtained an average score of 52.86 including into the low category. And the result of student learning interest after using learning media get the average value 89,96 including into tunggi category. So in this case it can be stated that the picture book media is worthy of use and can increase students' learning interest.
