- This study was directed to dtermine the effect of the use of vide media and image media on short story writing skills of class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Pandeglang. The formulation of the problem in this study is “Does the use of video media affect short story writing skills of class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 pandeglang?”, Does the use of picture media affect the short story writing skills of class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 pandeglang?”, and “are there significant differences between short story writing skills in class XI students of class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 pandeglang using video media and image media?”. The purpose of this study is “To determine the effect of video media use on short story writing skills of class XI student of SMA Negeri 3 pandeglang”, “To find out the effect of using picture media on short story writing skills of class XI student of SMA Negeri 3 Pandeglang”, and “To find out the difference between short story writing skills using video media and media images of clas XI SMA Negeri 3 Pandeglang”. This study uses an experimental method with the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design, that is research data analysis, it was concluded that the learning outcomes of short story writing students using video media goat an average score of 67,4 posttest pretest 76,4. The use of image media received an avarage score of 61,85 posttest pretest 69,6. Based on these data, the in crease in result of video media use is higher than the image media with a difference of 6,8 points. The results of this study state that video media is more influential than the image media on short story writing skills of clas XI SMA Negeri 3 Pandeglang.
